InspireSong was a 3 day singer-songwriter retreat held March 19-21, 2010. The retreat was held at beautiful Deer Run Retreat Center in Thompson’s Station, TN. The retreat was limited to 30 attendees to insure an intimate time of learning and networking.

Organized by Indieheaven.com president, Keith Mohr, and Cindy Wilt Colville, the retreat focused on songwriting from a Christian perspective and included open mic/live sharing of songs, small group collaboration, seminars from successful songwriters and industry professionals, and one on one interaction with mentors.

The Lord has just finished a new book… ‘The InspireSong Retreat’, and it is a great one!

It’s a book about 40 folks from across the USA, songwriters, that gathered together for a weekend in a beautiful country setting in the scenic hills of Tennessee.
The book actually starts… long before the event, with the Lord’s implantation of an idea to one of the founding organizers.
The idea is then shared with other visionaries, organizers and implementors that are open the to move of the Spirit.
Together, in unity of vision and colllaborative effort, they set it all up.

Meanwhile, the characters are then slowly being introduced into the chapters, with each individual story unfolding long before the event.
Each life is intricately being played out in detail… from when the Lord first moves upon them to attend the weekend, to all of the details and side plots involved in each person’s own story leading up to the event.

As they all begin to show up at the beautiful cabin-like retreat center, the individual stories and side plots begin to mesh together.
And what amazing detail the Lord goes into with all of these folks coming together, each bringing their special gifts, talents, ideas, preconceptions, and, yes, even some baggage.

Each chapter opens up exciting new plots and developing relationships… from some of which involved previous friendships and partnerships, to brand new ones taking off for the first time.
Such exciting reading and imagery… to see the how the Lord intertwines all of these folks over the next three days and nights.
Amazing new friendships and relationships are developed right before our eyes, some to last only for the weekend, others to last much longer, and many, many memories and lessons that will last a lifetime.

God is so good in how He takes such intricate, loving, and detailed interest in developing us to be the people that He wants us to be.
He is patient, kind, generous, thoughtful, humorous, and, most importantly… loving, in all that he has planned and all that He implements into our own stories. All the while, blending and meshing each individual story into a bigger story… the big picture… as He writes His-story.
I love how He writes!

The book is very hard to put down. With the turn of each page, it gets better and better. The characters are developed, the plot and sub-plots are developed, and I’m not going to ruin it for ya and tell you the end of the story. Basically, because I can’t; I don’t know what it is.
You will have to find that out for yourself; and you will!

By the time we get to the last day of the event, and the departuring good-byes are said, many, many good times, laughs and, yes, even tears, have been experienced, both by the characters in the story and the reader.

As the Lord finished this new book on Sunday evening and put it on His bookshelf, come Monday morning, He will immediately reach for another book, this one with blank pages, and He will begin to pen the next book of this series… the follow-up of each individual character’s own story as they settle back into their own lives again. But this time, their lives will be different from they were before the event. New pages and chapters will be written, new adventures will be undertaken, and new lives will be impacted. Each character from the first book will have been changed, and so will the people they encounter.

And as they take their gifts and talents to a new stage, new acts will be written, developed, and played out in front of new audiences.
And I have a feeling that this new book from the Lord just might be titled… ‘Acts 29′.

I can’t wait to read it!
